2015 Bombay Hook Quarter

The fourth of five coins in the 2015 series of the America the Beautiful quarters is the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, located in Delaware. The coin, which is also the 29th overall, will be released to the public on Sept. 14 and will be released in proof form a few weeks later. Since this coin is very difficult to find anywhere else, you may want to wait until they start appearing in your change to purchase one.

If you do decide to purchase a 2015 Bombay Hook quarter, you should know that they are worth about $1 in uncirculated condition. If they are in MS63 condition, they are worth at least $0.25, while a MS67 or MS68 coin will command up to $15. Despite their low face values, the 2015 P Bombay Hook quarter can be worth as much as $1.5 in MS64 or more. MS68+ coins are highly sought after, and only a handful of people have been able to achieve this level of perfection. A mint roll of a coin of this type is worth around $12-15.

The Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Quarter has no known errors, but it’s always a good idea to send it to a professional coin grading company to have it graded. It can be difficult to tell whether a coin is gold or silver, but you can generally see if it’s silver if you look at the mintmark on it. If it is silver, it’s an “S.” Otherwise, a gold plated quarter will be a “H” and a coin with a ‘S’ mintmark will be a proof set.

The obverse of the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Quarter shares its obverse design with the Washington Quarter, which ran from 1932 to 1998. Both designs included the words “Liberty” and the date. Since these designs changed when the United States introduced State Quarters and Territories, the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Quarter also has a similar design, displaying two storks swimming in tall water and grassy islands behind them.

Bombay Hook quarters are available in Brilliant Uncirculated, Proof and MS63 in the Mint’s online store. You can also find them in bags or rolls. These coins are a perfect way to commemorate a visit to the refuge. The Mint also offers rolls of America the Beautiful quarters and other coins in the America the Beautiful series. There are plenty of reasons to buy a bombay hook quarter and enjoy the wildlife refuge on the way.
