1993 P Quarter Error Value
The P Quarter Error Value was the first design flaw to appear on a U.S. coin. Located on the obverse side, this flaw was a small, misshapen “P” in the middle of the motto. This error caused confusion among collectors and made it difficult to find authentic coins. The P Quarter Error Value has since been removed from all coin collections. It will always remain a mystery, however.
In 1993, the United States Mint issued a silver quarter with an error in its value. Specifically, it had a broken line on the surface of the coin. As a result, many of these coins were melted down. Today, these coins are sought after by collectors. Although these coins may not be perfect, they’re still highly collectible pieces. They’re a good investment because they’ll hold a significant value over time.
