Fast Times at Ridgemont High was released forty years ago, making it a classic film. The film stars Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Phoebe Cates, and Forest Whitaker. Todd Rundgren’s song “Attitude”
“Attitude” is a song by Canadian musician Todd Rundgren. It was released in 1976. The song is based on the lyrics “Everybody Else is Wrong,” a song which was allegedly targeted at John Lennon. In the years that followed, Lennon was assassinated by an obsessive Rundgren fan, Mark David Chapman, who was incensed by Lennon’s remarks on religion. Chapman was wearing a promotional T-shirt of Rundgren’s album Hermit of Mink Hollow at the time of his murder. Rundgren was unaware of the connection until after his death. However, Chapman claimed not to know about Rundgren’s feud with the Melody Maker, even though Chapman had left a copy of the
Rundgren’s career began in the early 70s, when he was just 21 years old. He was already playing guitar for The Estes Brothers, and wanted to make music that would make people feel good. He didn’t care for fame, only creative ecstasy. His idol was Todd Rundgren, who had the same philosophy.
Jeff Spicoli’s story
Fast Times at Ridgemont High is often considered one of the funniest high school movies of all time. It was written by Cameron Crowe, who spent a year undercover in a San Diego high school. The movie is inspired by real life experiences of students at Clairemont High School, including Jeff Spicoli. Although David Lynch had been originally chosen to direct the film, Amy Heckerling stepped in and took over the reins.
